Gallatin River Shimmer 18"x24" Acrylic/Resin, Double Pane over a fly cast painting

The sun bouncing around on the Gallatin River has an overwhelming gold tinge to its rocks in the stream, with a warm undertone in the late part of spring. Cutthroat Trout aren’t the norm in the lower part but this painting is in reference to the upper part where they are a little more common in the cooler waters and the rainbows pushing their territory is not as combative. The double pane over the top of this painting allows the refraction of light to radiate throughout the piece. The trout is a normal size as to be more of a part of an intimate setting that every fisherman can experience. The blooms Caddis is a killer pattern in Montana and fishing the Gallatin River the trout like to see a few calories in their take.
