Spring is in the air in Montana when this painting was created. Meeting Gary and his son Brett was a welcome addition to the day as Gary (Brett’s grandfather) would fish the Madison River all the time during the winter months. “The summer time is just too crowded on this stream in the summer time”. There must have been over a dozen boats float by on this day and the only hatch coming off were some small bwo’s and midges. There is a subtle purple color to this stretch of water and the gold color coming off the hills stayed consistent with the welcome addition to the sun being present throughout the process, This painting looks amazing with the tonal change under a variety of different lighting.
